THE CIRCUIT

From the Nice nautical base, headquarters of the CIPA, (Centre International de Plongée en Apnée (International centre of free diving) founded by Claude Chapuis and Loïc Leferme in 1999) up to the beaches of the Marinières at Villefranche-sur-mer, including the harbour (where took place all Loïc Leferme’s famous “free diving” records)

Total: 5 kms. 

Amount of participants: about 200 participants

THE PROGRAM

Saturday – 13th September 2008          

 
NICE:

At « l’Aigle nautique » at the Nice port, for the departure of the finals of the French championship race solitary called: « Cap Istanbul »,

From 17h onwards: gathering of all participants (sportsmen, associations and VIP) at their stand.

Presentation of the FreeBluetour during prize giving of the prologue race « Cap Istanbul »,

Distribution of personalised badges, official tee-shirts, and program.

VIP meals

Shuttle service from the station or from Nice airport to the hotels in Nice and Villefranche–sur-mer

At Nice, at « l’Aigle nautique » on the Nice port

19h – 20h: director organization meeting

Security group and supervisors meeting

Swimmers associations meeting (coaches and directors: distribution of the arm bands, badges and t-shirts.

7h00 – 8h: Competitors gathering at the stand dedicated to « Loïc Leferme Foundation»

Light meal, changing room

Shuttle of the private cars towards Villefranche-sur-mer and courtesy bus for the return journey 

8h30: NICE port – « Reserve » beach 

Paddle race« Poisson LunePADDLE Contest » departure 

A paddle race is a race done lying down on your front or on your knees on a surfing board. This discipline is connected to surfing and most popular with all surfers. This kind of race is new in our area and adored by surfers: 5 kms of sport in great fun!

Animation at the « Reserve beach »: animator, music, interview, great fun…

Free swimming race departure open to bipalmes, monopalmes and free swimmers, the « FREE BLUE tour » with the « apnéistes » (French and foreigners, and top big French swimmers and handicapped sportsmen.

9h Welcome and installation of the associations in charge of the FREE BLUE tour activities

10h arrival of the children who have been  invited

The children are there to greet the first swimmers from morning race

Afternoon : Villefranche-sur-mer, in the bay of the Marinières beach

14h30 : Race « ProAm » in the harbor with French sport champions : a race which unites 3 sports personalities : 1 professional swimmer, 1 French sport celebrity, 1 adolescent. This is a friendly race where fair-play and sport cooperation prevail between 3 generations and 3 different levels of experience.

16h30 : Award ceremony for the morning races : “”Sun Fish Paddle Contest” and “FREE BLUE tour” Award ceremeony for the ProAm (signatures, interviews)

On the Marinières Beach :

Animations with the reference associations for ecology, the discovery of the underwater world, Freediving (CIPA), surf and Hawaiian pirogue, handi-sport, sea rescue, semaphore, scuba diving, underwater heritage, underwater archeology….

For public visitors and guests

Loic Leferle Exposition is open for all “his life, his adventures..”, the foundation…

Interventions of big French and international sport celebrities (testimonials), films for all

19h - Théâtre de Verdure - NICE  Concert in homage to Loic  with local groups from Nice and friends of Loic : an evocation of one of Loic’s other talents which was part of his life : music and the harmonica…

(Pascal Mono, Medi, les Squatters, Shoot to Kill avec les membres de Kragen, LeShark, Lily of the Valley, Bernard Abeille, Timothée …
